Green-mail is the core component of the green-span system.
The idea behind green-mail is, since the existing email system allows users to address information for immediate or later delivery, to one or more personal devices, that it makes sense for other applications to use email for (at a minimum) establishing an initial connection. Doing this means that users will only need one address (their email address) to achieve contact with each other via any number of different communications modes (text, voice, video) and that a single contact trust management and anti-spam system can cover all such personal communications needs.
